	SLIT LAMP MICROSCOPE The Slit Lamp Microscope [SLM] is a basic ophthalmic device for examination of the eyes and for diagnosis and treatment of some of the eye diseases as part of laser eye surgery. The SLM can be used as a stand alone device for examining the cornea, anterior chamber, iris, sclera, lens, etc. This SLM can be retrofitted with Nd:YAG laser equipment with which this can perform posterior capsulotomy for treating secondary cataract. The SLM consists of two major systems, the mechanical system and the optical system. The SLM has been clinically validated and technology was transferred to the industry (Ordnance Factory, Dehradun).
